Time to zero in on Dr. Zayeem Zaman!
"Hi everyone! My name is Zayeem Zaman, recent grad. I’m from Cypress, CA. I went to undergrad at UCLA and med school at Touro University Nevada.
During my free time, I love spending quality time with my family and friends, watching my Lakers and Saints, playing basketball, going to the beach, and exploring new restaurants!
Rotating through KPOC as a third year medical student, I instantly fell in love with the program. I noticed that many of the faculty and preceptors were products of the residency program and they were all exceptional physicians. In particular, working with Dr. Provenghi was very influential to me. I learned that we both have the uncanny similarities of growing up in the same town, graduating from the same high school, as well as sharing the same birthday, but it’s Dr. Provenghi’s commitment to his patients is what really resonated with me. Despite a busy schedule, he made sure all his patients’ concerns were addressed, and it was evident that they loved him for the care he provided. I knew that was the kind of physician I aspired to be, and now I’m grateful to have the opportunity to work alongside the best."

Let's welcome one of our star PGY-3s, Dr. Mika De Coster! (Academic Chief)

Three things to know about Mika:
  • 🎾 He was homeschooled through middle and high school to play competitive tennis.
  • 🚵🏻 He loves getting outdoors through mountain biking and skiing!
  • 🚩 His parents immigrated to the US from Belgium and Finland, the latter being where he spent many summer months growing up.

We are so happy to have you in our family Mika!
